Product description

Pole Shapes Book Beginner is an eco binder with removable pole dance shape cards for beginners — 70 shapes, each with a note on the grip and how to get into it. Instead of unlocking your phone with chalk-covered hands and hunting for names, you get a tidy library of shapes and a place where your progress is visible. Turn the chaos of remembering names on the mat into calm, steady progress.

How does the binder help during training?

You know the feeling: your hands slip on the pole, chalk ends up on everything you touch, and you're trying to recall the name of last week's shape. Instead of fighting with your phone — you open your Pole Shapes Book. Under each shape there are three circles: almost · got it · nailed it — you mark the stage and see your growth in black and white.

And because you take the cards out one at a time, it's easy to build your own combos from them and rearrange them however you like. Even with just a few shapes under your belt, you'll quickly plan your first little combo.

What's inside the Beginner edition?

70 beginner shapes across five card sets:

  • Basic spin and Basic spin variations — spins that build flow.
  • Basic static and Basic static variations — static holds for strength and a confident grip.
  • Basic flow — combinations made for your first photos.

Each card comes with my own illustration and a short note on the grip and how to get into the shape — knowledge explained in plain words, from a dancer to fellow dancers.

Why a binder and not a phone app?

You take the cards out and bring them to the mat — they work where your phone gives up: around sweat and chalk. The stiff paper with a soft-touch laminate (~180 gsm) resists water and chalk, so it survives every session. For a given class you take only the shapes you're working on. And the binder grows with you — you add the next levels (Intermediate, Advanced).

Pole Shapes Book Beginner is the first part of a three-level series (Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced). Polish, family-run production and original artwork.

Frequently asked questions

Will the cards survive training with chalk?
Yes. The stiff ~180 gsm paper with a soft-touch laminate resists water, sweat and chalk; after training, just wipe them with a damp cloth.

How long will Beginner last me?
70 shapes and variations is enough material for many months of regular training.

How is it different from Intermediate and Advanced?
Beginner is your starting base; you add the next levels to the same binder as you progress.

Does it make a good gift?
Yes — it's a spot-on gift for anyone who's just starting out or already loves pole.

Start ticking off your progress — one shape at a time.

Which level is for you?

Not sure where to start? Don't worry — I've split the shapes into three levels so you land in the right one. See which one is you:

LevelWhen to choose itWhat you practiseWhat it needs
Beginner ← you're viewingyou're starting out or coming back after a breakthe basics: spins, static holds, basic flowjust willingness, from zero
Intermediateyou've got the basics and want to go furthercombos, variations of familiar shapes, your first splitssolid basics and inverts
Advancedyou feel confident on the pole and crave harder shapeshandsprings, shoulder mounts, splits, strong V-shapesexperience and strength

Want two levels at once? I've got them in a single Beginner + Intermediate bundle. And if you'd rather add your own cards — I also have the blank "My Pole Shapes Book" binder to fill in yourself.

Binder vs. planner — which is which?

You often mix up the binder with the planner — but they're two different things, each for something else. Let me tell you which is which:

What it isWhat it's forWhat you get
Pole Shapes Book (the binder) ← you're viewingWHAT to practise — a catalogue of shapescards with entry notes, chalk-resistant
Pole Dance PlannerHOW and WHEN — planning your traininga training journal, space for goals and notes
Instructor Plannerfor those who teach classesplanning lessons and groups, A4 format

I also have single shape cards and downloadable (PDF) versions, if you'd like to start smaller.
